Trusting the Process: Embracing the Unknown

We’ve heard it time and time again. Trust the process. You can’t control the unknown. Just go with the flow.

But let’s be honest—it's uncomfortable as hell, and we just don’t like it. The world is obsessed with instant gratification. So trusting the process often feels unnatural because, from an early age, we’ve been taught to control almost every aspect of our lives—our timeline, our achievements, our success.

The Struggle with Control

So, what happens when life refuses to be controlled? When nothing goes according to plan? We panic. We resist. We feel like we’re failing. It’s a deeply ingrained reaction, and yet, here’s the truth—there is nothing wrong with you for feeling this way. It’s completely normal.

Letting go of control isn’t easy. In fact, I’d argue that it’s an act of courage. Society tells us to suppress discomfort, to make peace with uncertainty as if it’s effortless. But can we, for once, make it okay to feel uncomfortable when life doesn’t bend to our will? Can we normalize frustration with the unknown rather than forcing ourselves to ‘just go with the flow’ as if it’s second nature?

Growth Comes from Trust, Not Control

From where I stand, real growth doesn’t come from having a tight grip on everything—it comes from trust. And trusting the process? It’s messy. It’s unpredictable. It challenges us in ways we never expected. But in that discomfort, in that space between control and surrender, something incredible happens: we grow.

So please, don’t be hard on yourself. It’s okay to struggle with letting go. It’s okay to feel uneasy in uncertainty. But know this—you got this.
